Transportation and Logistics
Transportation and Logistics
High-performance transportation and logistics operations depend on accurate, real-time data capture at every control point across the supply chain. From inbound receipt through to final delivery, the ability to identify, validate, and track assets with precision is fundamental to operational efficiency and traceability.
Transportation relates to the execution layer of the supply chain, where goods are physically moved between nodes via road, rail, air, or maritime networks. Within these environments, barcode reading systems are deployed at key hand-off and verification points such as loading bays, cross-dock facilities, sortation hubs, and last mile dispatch to ensure shipment integrity, routing accuracy, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). High-speed scanning and reliable decode performance are critical in maintaining throughput and eliminating bottlenecks.
Logistics encompasses the end-to-end orchestration of material flow, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution processes. Efficient logistics operations rely on robust data acquisition to support WMS, TMS, and ERP integration. Barcode scanning technologies enable automated identification, real-time inventory updates, and event-driven process control, reducing dependency on manual input and significantly improving data accuracy.
Our barcode reading systems are engineered for demanding industrial environments and support:
- High-speed, omnidirectional barcode capture in dynamic workflows
- Integration with warehouse management (WMS), transport management (TMS), and host systems
- Real-time data exchange for track-and-trace and auditability
- Error-proofing (poka-yoke) in picking, packing, and dispatch operations
- Operation in harsh environments including low light, variable print quality, and high-volume throughput conditions
Operational Impact
The deployment of industrial-grade barcode scanning solutions enables deterministic tracking of goods across the supply chain, supporting full visibility and accountability at unit, carton, and pallet level. This results in:
- Increased processing throughput and reduced dwell times
- Improved pick/pack/ship accuracy and reduced misroutes
- Enhanced traceability for compliance and customer reporting
- Lower operational costs through automation and error reduction
In high volume logistics and transportation environments, barcode data capture is not just an efficiency tool, it’s a critical control layer that underpins system integrity, process validation, and end-to-end supply chain performance.
Why it matters
By implementing robust barcode scanning solutions, businesses can significantly improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Whether in a warehouse, distribution centre, or transport hub, our systems ensure that the right product reaches the right place, at the right time, every time.
AIRPORTS
To keep travelers moving and tight schedules on time, airports rely on data capture solutions. Barcode imagers, long range scanners and cameras keep baggage and cargo moving while handheld scanners and mobile computers check boarding passes, track assets, and validate luggage as it is loaded.

COURIER & PARCELS
While off-loading vans, trucks, trailers, and airplane containers, the latest barcode technology makes identification of parcels easy. Using the latest technology, 2D barcode readers enable either a a single or multiple devices device to cover any belt width and provide exceptional throughput due to the high read rate and close item spacing allowing multiple items in the same reading window.
Single or multi-sided scanning tunnels with integrated dimensioners, linear cameras, area imager or laser scanners, identify and sort packages on high speed sorting systems. Real time image storage is also possible for Video coding, OCR and real-time pattern recognition to identify hazardous material labels helping affect sort decisions.
Postal
Unloaded parcels are dimensioned and weighted; thousands of parcels are automatically handled and classified based on the dimensions and weight. The captured data can be used for quality checks, storage optimization or legal for trade. Dimensionsers in combination with 2D imagers are the perfect solution.
